It's been a while

Sorry guys, I havent had much time to post. The baby will be along in a little less than 2 months. I dont really have a lot of news to report besides getting to see Static-X and Collective Soul within a week of each other. Both shows were great but I think Static-X had a better show it may just be because there music is a little heavier and the crowd was more energetic. Collective Soul was classic but they seemed to struggle a little at the first of the show trying to get the crowd more involved but it got better as the night went on and the idiots that showed up at 8am to just to get a good seat started leaving only halfway thru the show. I just dont understand some people, maybe that just a little pet peave of mine but my goodness 5 bucks to see one of the best bands of the 90's and you leave to beat the traffic, puhlease. I guess I just take my music a little more seriously than others, oh well. Back to the Static-X show. It started pouring down about halfway thru the show about the time they started playing some of there best stuff, like "Love Dump" and "Get to the Gone" with the way the strobe lights were hitting the heavy rain drops it made for an awesome show let me tell ya. They have to be one of the tightest bands I've ever heard live besides Pantera. Well I'm out for now, later ya'll.

Imagine that!

Metallica
Heavy metal! You rock! It's mostly about the
music instead of lyrics for you...but you
channel most of the emotion through the lyrics!
Mosh pit for you! Just be careful you don't
give yourself a concussion with so much
headbanging...

What genre of rock are you?

Poison Ivy sucks

I've been battling with poison ivy on my forarms since Thursday and still havent completely gotten rid of it. It itches like nobody's business. I've been dragging around for a week from all the Benadryl I've taken. So that's the week that was Adam.

I can kind of elaborate on what my brother was saying about my papaw, but I did get to spend a little more time around him closer towards the end, and although he could be hard to talk to at times, there was a few times he did sit and talk to me about some of his old days. He was a WWII and Korean War Vet both POW and MIA. For those who might not know what that means that is a prisoner of war and missing in action, in other words he was held captive by the enemy and his comrads had no idea where he was. It seems to make a little more impact when you spell it out, huh. Althought I do see a lot of my Dad's personality in Ernie, I see a lot of both in me as well. I have the down to earthness of my Mother most of the time and I look like my Dad a lot. But when I get a little hot under the collar, The Ernest and Dennis comes out and it usually ain't pretty because its been harnessed by my Mom's friendly personality for so long.

Subliminal Flushings......

I think Ern was a little off target there with that one I hate "Cookie Monster" vocals unless its done right and Phillip Anselmo is the only one that I can listen to that sings in that range but he's allowed to, I mean after all it seems like every new metal band that is out nowadays is trying to sound like Pantera and failing miserably. I do however like good guitar music which somtimes leads me that type of singing. "ME WANT COOKIE" DA DO DO DA DO DO DA! I can listen to anything from Bocephus to The Inspirations to Black Sabbath and usually find something good to say about all of it. Like "The Inspirations their piano player is amazing" or "Man, that Bocephus can really hold his liquor and stay in key" and finally "Dude, Black Sabbath has subliminal toilet flushes in there music but its sounds so cool, I'll be right back I have to go to the bathroom". I'm just a positive guy unless its the new Weezer I think it could have used a few toilet tips from Sabbath. ;)

Its been a long time!

I've been lazy, I know. I'm loving the new position at Charter. Its goin to work out well, God willing. I made my debute at Grace Ev. Free Church on Sunday and I must say it was fun getting to play live again. I got a lot of compliments from a lot of good people and I appreciate all of them, its good to know someone enjoyed the talent God gave us.

I've recently upgrade some of my setup in my new pedal board that well help playing live as well. First I got a Boss BCB-60 Pedal Board then I added a few pedals my most recent purchase are a boss ds-1 distortion, an Ibanez echo/delay pedal, and a Jimi Hendrix Dunlop Wah-Wah. Add all that with my old Boss Metal Zone Mt-2 and my Morley Crystal chorus (which I used a lot Sunday) and I ave a pretty good setup now. Sorry I can't find any pics of the Morley Chorus, it's kind of an old pedal that a picked up a long time a ago off of a good friend, It's somewhat of a secret weapon in my arsenal. There you have it my live setup is now intact. I'll take pics of it all later and post them.

My latest music purchases!

I took my brothers advice and purchased the new Weezer. I will have to say I am a little diappointed. I love Weezer, but the writing and song arrangments are subpar at best on the new one. Sorry, but this is not an album I see my self putting in a year from now and being happy about spending money on it. The new Audioslave is a different story, Brilliant. Their sound is innovating and fresh to the ears. Morello's guitar chops are "off the hook", yes I just said off the hook. I can put this in the cd player 10 years from now and be very happy I bought it. I will finish tonight by saying that American Idol was pointless tonight, because Bo locked it up after last weeks performance, but I watched it anyway. Later ya'll
