Professional Experience

Currently the principle investigator in the pellet fueling program at the DIII-D national fusion experiment at General Atomics in San Diego, CA. Performed analysis of fueling experiments in fusion devices around the world resulting in several publications. Involved in several non-fusion projects to develop advanced technology in such areas as electron-beam lithography and direct to digital holography.

Dissertation: Particle Transport in Pellet Fueled JET Plasmas

Successfully installed a pellet fueling system on the JET fusion experiment in England and was principle investigator from ORNL in a pellet fueling collaboration on JET. Assisted in experimental planning and carried out experiments over a two-year period. Analysis of experiments resulted in a Ph.D. dissertation and two first author papers.

Implemented automated controls, data acquisition systems, and image acquisition system for pellet fueling systems. Responsible for the data acquisition system in a $100 million superconducting magnet test facility.
