Who we are

For twelve years I was a User Services Consultant with the responsibility for supporting the Mac OS at the University of Tennessee. That support included hardware procurement, server setup and administration, lab maintenance, software procurement, data recovery, network design, creating installers, writing software documentation and much more.

For 6 years I was a Senior Systems Programmer/Analyst in the Windows and UNIX Systems Group. During that time (1996) I created MacVolPlace. One of the oldest and best Macintosh support web sites.

Currently I am working in Web Services.

Web Site Design

A web site allows people to find out about you, your organization, or your business 24x7. More people use the Internet than the phone to try and find out about possible customers, partners, or clients.

Good design can enhance your company's image and allow customers a low cost way to find out about you and your company.

Design can take from 10 to 100+ hours depending on the size, scope, design elements, level of coding and complexity of the site. The first consult is always free so what have you go to lose?

We can provide complete update service along with the design work or set it up so you can do the updates.

We do not do pornographic sites so don't even ask.

I have won two national awards for my print design work and am the co-chair of the Content and Design track (as well as a presenter) at this year's WevdevShare (http://www.webdevshare.org/) at Indiana University. I make my living designing and writing for the web.

MAM Consulting can help. I have been working on the Mac since 1985. In that time I have:

• evaluated leading edge technology on the Macintosh and serving as the principal Macintosh resource and System Administrator at the University of Tennessee,
  
• been the Apple Support Coordinator for the University from 1985-2000,
  
• designed and maintain MacVolPlace, the UTK Macintosh Web Site,
  
• installed the first Macintosh at UTK as well as its first AppleTalk network, the first AppleShare server, and the first FastPath router,
  
• specified, ordered the equipment, and software for all of the Macintosh Labs at UT,
  
• been responsible for the daily care, upkeep, and maintenance of the hardware and software in all Macintosh labs. I created all the software installers,
  
• done beta testing for software vendors and have written documentation for commercial software,
  
• setup, maintained, and backedup central file servers,
• negotiated site licenses with software and hardware vendors,
  
• taught courses on the Mac OS and various Macintosh application software packages,
  
• have written software, instructional, and online documentation. I wrote Synergy Software's VersaTerm-Link User's Manual,
  
• have installed RAM, hard disks, boards, etc. in almost every Macintosh model.

The cost is $65/hour with a one hour minimum and the MAM guarantee. If we don't fix it you don't pay. (This excludes hardware failures.)

DVD Recording

Transfer your memories to DVD. Prints, slides, transparencies, or video tapes. Save your cherished memories forever. DVD discs have an expected lifetime of 100+ years. Weddings, birthdays, vacations and don't forget about reunions, Mitzvahs and of course baby's first steps.

Models, put your portfolio on DVD.

Actors, musicians, transfer your audition videos to DVD.

We also transfer real estate video, training seminars, corporate functions and religious ceremonies.

If it was important enough for you to put on video, it should be important enough for you to save on DVD.

Our pricing for DVD transfer is as follows:

• Basic DVD up to 2-hours from your video tapes or pictures to DVD-R with automatic chapter marks, no custom menus. $99
  Extra copies are $30 each.
  
• Semi-Custom DVD up to 2-hours with DVD menus theme, custom title text, custom chapter marks and icon based scene menus to match your video or pictures. $199
  Extra copies are $50 each.
  
• Full Custom DVD design based on customer provided videos, pictures and cards for a special occasion. For example a wedding, customize it with motion menu, custom menus, text and slide shows. $499
  Extra copies are $75 each.
  

Note:

• The quality of a DVD cannot exceed that of the source from which it is mastered, so if the master tape is on VHS, the quality of the DVD will not exceed that of VHS.
• Also, certain older DVD players may display incompatibility with certain DVDs.
  
• Please note that we will not make a DVD from any copyrighted material unless you provide a written permission from the copyright owner.
• Also, no X-rated material is accepted. So don't even ask.
