New Orleans 1999

On August 19 - 22, 1999 a reunion was held in New Orleans, LA at the Holiday Inn Chateau Lamoines hotel. The gathering consisted primarily of ASA buddies who were stationed at Kagnew in 1959 and 1960. These pictures, taken by David Cope, indicate that a great time was had by all. Although this was their first reunion, the group plans to do it again in the near future.

Here we see the startling results of the ravages of age, wind, sun, debauchery and unclean thoughts. Just kidding guys, just kidding. Real nice haircuts on all of you. Why does Ainley look drunk?

Back Row: Lynn McFadden, Bill Fitzgerald, Tim Hunt

My apologies to Dave Cope, and to all of you - Dave sent me a bunch of really great photographs, but my cheap scanner was having a bad hair day and everything came out dark despite my best technical efforts (i.e., I cussed it and kicked it). Maybe I can find someone with a better scanner and re-run the pictures soon. It is a great pleasure to see all of you good folks and I just can't say how much I regret that I was unable to attend. Next time, I hope.

If any of you folks have pictures (either from NOLA or Asmara days), or words, that you want posted on here, please contact me via e-mail. - Jonesy
