Hey, Ya Know What?

I've gotta say, Ernie's pick for his #1 all time favorite song is a good one. Sweet Child 'o' Mine was the song that made me a G 'n' R fan. Many of you may not remember, but it was not the first single released on Appetite for Destruction. Welcome to the Jungle had that honor. Sweet Child was the 2nd single released. Also, back in 1987 Mtv used to be a video music station and I remember staying up in New Years Eve and finding out it was Mtv's song/video of the year. I remember me my brother Robbie being incredibly pumped about that. That whole next year of G 'n' R for us. We couldn't get enough. Paradise City was the 3rd single and the last to get major airplay from the album. But that did not phase us. We had Rocket Queen, Mr. Brownstone, Nighttrain, You're Crazy and Out ta Get Me (cause I'm innocent, so you can... awesome!) to keep us more than happy. It was the quintessential hard rock album of the 80's. To steal an idea from Ernie, it would have been the album of the decade were it not for Joshua Tree.

And let me say, the 87-88 school year was one of the best times of my life. Good friends, good music (Joshua Tree was released the same year). I may post some stuff about that year sometime....
