Hey, Ya Know What?

Today I witnessed an awesome event. Ernie shot a personal best -9 at Borden. He had a 6 foot putt that he ganked on 18 or it would have been -10. I told on about the 4th hole that I just felt like it was his day. Sure enough, the boy done good. My man, Ernie Dunn. Oh yeah, big props to Ima on the -11. I hate I wasn't there playa.

Ok, it's official. I absolutely despise the NBA. Is it because the officiating is so bad that fundamentals mean nothing anymore? It it because teams trade talent like Tracy McGrady because of free agency the chance they may get screwed? Is it because of more player drug offenders than punctuation errors in a Mike Johnson Blog? Or could it be the premier player in the league on trial for rape? Maybe it's because of the crappy shooting and offense of the last 10 years. All of those contribute. But what really pushed me over the edge is what it has done to playground basketball. It has ruined it with the help of the And1 goofballs and the shoe companies. No one knows how to play the actual game of basketball now. 5 on 5 at the playground used to be sacred. Teams would pull together to try and keep the court for 10 straight games or more. Now it's a bunch of people, who watch all of these fundamentally challenged athletes and try to be as cool as them. It's sickening. I remember playing on the outdoor courts at UT like 10 or 12 years ago(wow, I'm old)and competitive and fun those games were. People knew how to dribble, pass and shoot. Now all they can do is drive helter skelter to the basket and throw some crazy crap at the basket. If it looks 'cool' it doesn't even have to go in for everyone to go "whoaaa". It just kills me. As a product the NBA sucked plenty to hate. As the thing that future players are patterning their games after, it is absolutely hate worthy.

Rich... full of hateration for the NBA...
