Well well well, the NBA players over in Athens get drilled by Puerto Rico. More fodder for my disgust of this sorry league. Sportscasters keep making excuses... Our best aren't there... The world has caught up... We need a couple of shooters to go with the athletes... Come on! These guys are suppose to be at the top of their profession. If you want to know why they can't win, it's simple. It goes back to what I was saying a few months ago. In general, everyone in the NBA has a 'me first' attitude. The Detroit Pistons were a breath of fresh air and won the championship as a team, but that is not the norm. Also, fundamentals are no longer important. Does anyone wonder why the rest of the world has been able to catch up as much as they have? Hmmm, maybe because they have used guys like Bird, Magic, and Jordan as the template for good basketball. They are playing ball from another, better era.

I am sure that David Stern is about to have a stroke. His product is horrible, and now his players are being embarrassed in a way no other NBA Olympic team has been. This not good for the NBA. And the part that has to kill Stern is, it won't change anything in the NBA for the better. No real lessons will be learned.
