Hey, Ya Know What?

There is a better answer and it doesn't take rocket science to flesh it out. It's called better citizenship. We are a nation of takers. Overall, we are not givers. And it's the 'me first' attitude that has wrecked what we call insurance. If we would be honest, and not pervert the system with our selfishness rates would be lower and payouts would be greater. If folks were honest, our taxes would be lower. If they were honest, everything would be cheaper. But that is the world we live in and unfortunately, if you believe the word of God, it'll get worse before it gets better. Face it, we live in a fallen world. It's so much bigger than insurance, and taxes, and money. Speaking of money, why do we get mad at doctors and insurance companies for wanting to make more money when most of us do too? I mean, money isn't evil in of it's self. It's when our desire for money is greater than our desire for, well, that wich is holy, and pure, and good, and kind, and loving, and charitable, and on and on. If you want to see more, pick up a Bible. It's all in there.

Here is a question for all of us. Where are your priorities as it concerns money? Anyone who knows me, knows it's way the heck down on my list. But there are times that even I struggle with it and put it higher than it should be. Where is God on your list? Where is your family on the list? Your friends? Your Job? Your health? Your house or car? Your church? Your church family? Your own pleasure? I'd encourage you all to make a list, add things, and be honest and put a number on them. Then put it up beside the glory of God and you may be surprised at how wretched we all really are when it all is said and done. But that isn't the end. Romans 3 says 21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Let's remember in all of these discussions and debates that there is a much bigger thing going on that any social concern we may agree or disagree on. A little grace and mercy between each of us goes a long long way. It'll never match God's, but it can be enough.
