Wait, Wait

Good things come to those who wait. That is a wonderful sentiment. We use it all the time and it is usually true. However, I just came across a verse in the Bible that says it a little better I think. Isaiah 30:18 says, 'Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!' Um, did that just say he LONGS to be gracious. That is so awesome to think about. I could go on and on about this, and maybe I will one day.

Blessed indeed! I have to tell you. I love my new job. Yesterday was my first day on my own, and went very well. After a long year and a half or so, suffering through a job I didn’t like and then being laid off again, this job was worth waiting for. And it didn’t just come to me because of waiting for IT. It came to me because I waited for HIM. Why God asks us to wait for things sometimes I never fully understand. But I do know this. No matter how long I go looking for an answer, he is always faithful.

Spring is right around the corner. I am so excited. Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons. That’s why I capitalize them! I like it when things are green, and alive. I enjoy sunshine and warm weather. I am looking forward to baseball season this year more than I have in a long time, even with the steroid scandal out there. Of course as I saying all of this, it’s spitting snow outside. That’s ok though. I can WAIT a little longer I guess.

  • Rich, I must say...your post put my cruddy rush-rush day into perspective. Thanks man, your words have come through in the clutch once again. I now fully understand why you're known as the "Wiley Veteran". :)
