Come and join our party

Have you ever been passionate about something? I mean REALLY passionate? I’ve been tossing this around in my head and asked myself these questions. Do you care what other people are passionate about? Do you use what you know to further the relationship? I know I am asking lots of questions here, but that seems to be what I do lately. :) You’ll have to excuse me.

Something that got me thinking about this was an article I read on “Sin City”, the Frank Miller graphic novel turned into a movie. Frank Miller said that Hollywood would never get their hands in this piece of work. Enter Robert Rodriguez. He wanted to make this movie. He wanted to make it so badly that he asked Frank Miller to be co-director with him. What’s the big deal you say? Well, the big deal is that the director’s guild doesn’t allow multiple directors. So RR dropped out to allow Frank to join the project as director. He gave up insurance, awards possibilities and a slew of other things; all because he wanted to make this movie. He sold out in the best way possible. Would I be willing to sell out like that for what I have a passion for?

What in the heck are you talking about Rich? What’s all this about? See my post yesterday? You know, the provocative one? I’m about to strike out and do something with a passion that I have. It will be a very new thing to me. Some of you already know what I am going to do. Some of you have already agreed to help. Some of you will be a part of it, maybe a big part. And everyone else, I look forward to telling you and hope you can and will be a part of it as well.

So, the suspense continues… But not for much longer. I hope. Ernie, we gotta get to work. :)
