OpenVMS, Sun Solaris and IBM AIX System Analyst                                                Oct 2002 – Present

·  Operate and maintain approximately 60 Alpha and Vax computer systems running OpenVMS, versions 6.2 to 7.3.

·  Operate and maintain approximately 60 Sun Solaris systems running Solaris 8 and 9.

·  Member of the IBM AIX support team.

·  Support TCP/IP, Oracle RDB, DecScheduler, UC4, DecWindows, DECNET, Volume Shadowing and Mirroring, VAXCluster, Resonate Central Dispatch, Resonate Global Dispatch, EMC disk storage, Oasis and Legato backup, and other products.

·  Work with various teams to support the EMC Storage Area Network for VMS and on AIX. 

·  Write VMS and Unix scripts to automate and streamline operations. Utilize CRON and VMS batch. 

·  Assist the Windows NT team with various NT administration tasks.

Operations Analyst, Sr. OpenVMS System Administrator                                        June 1996 – Oct 2002

·  Migrated the production cluster from a set of Alpha 7620s to an Alpha 4100 saving the company $5000 per month in maintenance fees while at the same time providing increased response to end users and cutting the time needed for daily, weekly, and monthly processing jobs by 60%.

·  Successfully tested and prepared for the Y2K issue allowing January 1st, 2000 to pass without incident on the VMS systems.

·  Operated and maintained several VMS systems running ASK/MANMAN, Oracle DBMS, and RDB that were used for accounts payable and receivable, MRP scheduling, inventory control, and customer services.

·  Supported DecScheduler, TGV Multinet (TCP/IP), Raxco, UDMS report writer, and other software products.

·  Wrote programs and batch jobs to interface with ASK/MANMAN using the DCL programming language.

·  Provided user support in-house and to remote sites all over the U.S.

·  Provided on the job training, guidance, and support for the second and third shift operators and junior administrators.

·  Trained for and became the backup HP-UX System Administrator for 8 HP-UX (Unix) systems.

·  Provided user support to the local plant as well as several remote sites including Europe and Mexico.

·  Repaired, maintained, and installed Digital computer hardware and software in a large geographic area.

·  Maintained hardware devices such as video and hardcopy terminals, line printers, PDP11 and VAX computer systems, and other DEC and Vendor equipment.

·  Mentored less senior Service Engineers to help them progress technically and professionally.
