------Using NIST Search and AMDIS to Process HP Data Files--------

Use AMDIS to process HP, netCDF, and other data file formats and the
NIST search to search spectra. AMDIS was originally written for primarily target
compound analyses, but we have found it very useful for qualitative analyses.
Just obtain the deconvoluted spectrum (see example) and then right click to
select NIST search (see example).

We have written a user's manual for NIST Search and AMDIS that offers some
tips for using these programs in qualitative analyses.  NIST also supplies good
documentation with the Ver 2 library search (Ver20man.doc).  An AMDIS manual is
available on their web site.  NIST supplies a program (lib2nist.exe) for converting HP
user libraries with structures into NIST format.

Downloading Information: Some information is in Acrobat Reader (pdf) format.
Some browsers can read them directly if Adobe Acrobat is installed. If you want to
save a document to your disk, "right click" instead of "double clicking" with left
mouse button. This will allow you to "save target as" which will write the file to
your disk. Either way, you will need Adobe Acrobat and/or WinZip. Links to download
these programs are listed below:
